55 Tracks in 105 Minutes [Downlink's Free 2012 Mix]

You may have noticed that we’re not normally ones to post mixes, aside from our feature that runs every Monday. There are a few reasonswhy, but mostly it’s just not our thing, as we tend to favor up and coming artist features and event coverage.

However, there are always exceptions to this whenever a mix particularly catches our ear, and this latest from Downlink really brings a lot to the table. We hope this makes up for skipping Mix Mondays this week.

Originally released through his Facebook page, he simply named it his “2012 DJ Mix”, which speaks to how uncommon it is for the man to drop one of these. If the reason for that is because of how much time he spends planning and preparing them, it definitely shows.

His transitions are flawless and, for a number of tracks, fairly frequent, which is why he was able to burn through a jaw dropping 55 tracks. I knew Downlink was a talented producer, but having never witnessed him live I had no idea he was this great of a DJ.

The entire mix is super bass-y and essentially seamless, with some tracks you’ll definitely know, and others you won’t, that span across the entire EDM map. He makes them flow so well though that you’re assured to find a lot of new tunes to fall in love with.

Oh, and some of the trannys will straight up just blow your mind.

Something to listen for (and also because I know this will get us a lot of hits on Google, but whatever) are two unreleased Skrillex tracks early on. The first one currently goes by “DnB Ting” and it’s followed by a DnB version of Kill Everybody. They’re both pretty dope and start at about the 13:44 mark.
