BOSTON: Skism and Dodge & Fuski @ The Middle East 6/19/12 (PREVIEW + FREE DL)
Tomorrow night, we are about to lay witness to what is easily Boston’s biggest bass music lineup of the summer thus far.
Together with the notorious Throwed Boston, we’re hosting the undisputed double drop king Skism, and a duo who made major waves last year in Dodge & Fuski, as part of Never Say Die Records’s compilation CD release tour. Providing the opening heat will be Throwed residents E-Marce, Texas Mike, and yours truly.
Doors are at 9 pm, and given the magnitude of these acts I would suggest either showing up early or purchasing presales. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 on the day of, and $20 at the door. You can visit the Facebook event page for more info.
SKisM & Excision - SEXisM (Original Mix)
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Skism perform twice, once in the Middle East and again at a sold out Webster Hall. He has quite possibly the most technically impressive live performance you can find. There are instances where you will find excellent producers turned DJs whose limited live experience detracts from the show. With Skism, this is certainly not the case, as he simultaneously builds and releases heavy bass bangers with style, skill, and grace.
RackNRuin - Dazed & Confused (SKisM's Baroque Out Remix)
To get an idea of what I’m talking about, check out this video below that I literally show everybody when I’m raving about Skism. It’s from Baltimore’s Spring Massive last year, and starts off with him dropping an acapella of Foreign Beggars’ “Contact” over “Reptile”. Take note at the :31 mark as he cuts out the backing track that this isn’t a pre-made bootleg, this is happening live.
I’ve never had the opportunity to catch the Bristol natives Dodge & Fuski’s DJ set, so I’m pretty excited to hear what they have in store for us. Their beats are relentless, melodic, bass heavy choons that will melt your face and ensure that your sauce is lost. Below I’ve included a free download of their remix to SKisM’s fan favorite, “Rave Review”, as well as a stream of an original track, “What Do You Know”.

Dodge & Fuski - What Do You Know (Original Mix)
Per usual, it should be an absolutely insane night that we’ll be sure to regret in the morning. I’m on from doors until…I have no idea, so come out early and say what’s up.
One love.
